Who were the bass guitar and drummer?
And then there's Early Kirk. Who knew? Thank god for the internet!
70s NYC sound and beyond. Thad took Big Band to such a high creative( not imitated) level which has not been surpassed to this day. 🙏🙌
Still love this!!!!
I like Brother Jack McDuff's hairstyle.
Ed Bickert, Mike Stern, Adam Rodgers, Ted Green ….Tele’s.
Seems strange to see him with a Tele. But, great as ever, as is the band.
After quite a bit of research, I now know this was first broadcast (live?) In June 1972. I had to check because l clearly remember my Dad and (Polish) Mom telling me ALL ABOUT Gene Krupa and then bringing out the records. I was 11 years-old... Thank you for letting me see this again 54 years later. David. 6/20/24.
Kenny is on fire💥
On fire ❤️👍
I'm ashamed I've never heard this before today. This is mesmerizing! WOW!

Very good and with the lesley too
As a person who was born in the mid 1970's and grew up in the 1980's & 1990's, I'm having a hard time believing that George Benson had been on the scene since the 1960's Motown Era & Stax (Otis Redding), The British Acts, James Brown. even Sam Cooke was still alive around this time, because when I think of him I think of his hit records that I grew up on in the 1980's like "Give Me The Night" & "Turn Your Love Around", but this is historically accurate. Nice piece of history here.
And don' t forget Åke "Stan" Hasselgard, who played the tune with Barney. But Chuck is great here! Greetings from Sweden!
Terry Evans is my big cousin
why is it nostalgic
I don't know how the floor could have held all that talent.

Jazz supposedly has no 'rules'. This is as free speech as it gets when it comes to music. I'm here for it. 🏆
Jimmy.was the man!!
